bitlocker tpm 1 2 not working thinkpad t60

Hi , does anyone know, if and how Bitlocker runs on a Thinkpad T60 with TPM 1.2 Chip? If I want to initialize the TPM Module with tpm.msc the cosole says "A compatible Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Security Hardware cannot be found on this computer", although I turned TPM in the BIOS on. Do I have to wait for an appropriate BIOS update or can it be that the TPM 1.2 Chip is incompatible with BitLocker?
